It has been a relatively quiet summer transfer window for Werder Bremen. 'The Green-Whites' have had to say goodbye to their captain as Max Kruse has joined Fenerbahce on a free transfer, but have otherwise largely managed to keep their team together.
Marco Friedl's loan deal has been turned into a permanent one while Niclas Füllkrug has completed a €6.5 million move to Weserstadion from Hannover 96.
Füllkrug almost spent the entire second half of last season on the sidelines due to a knee injury and could see Josh Sargent start at the expense of him from the beginning of the season after the youngster has impressed in pre-season.
