Julian Brandt: 'We have no-one to blame but ourselves'
Julian Brandt was disappointed with Borussia Dortmund's performance against Werder Bremen on Tuesday.

Julian Brandt said Borussia Dortmund could only blame themselves for their surprising 3-2 loss to Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday evening.
Brandt and his teammates were trailing 2-0 at the break and crashed out of the cup after Werder held on to their lead to win 3-2.
"We didn't play well in the first half, especially not on the attacking side of things. We saw a lot of the ball but weren't able to create very much with it. We have no-one to blame but ourselves. We played it side-to-side too often and weren't direct enough going forward. The Weserstadion is a hard place to go a goal down. The home fans definitely helped carry their team over the line tonight," Brandt said after the game, as quoted by BVB.
"We can't expect to score five goals every match. We all just seemed to be lacking that extra bit of desire to get on the scoresheet tonight. It's been a disappointing evening for us, but credit has to go to Bremen - they did a good job and managed to close down the space very well."
Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt was pleased to see his team return to winning ways after suffering two Bundesliga defeats in a row.
"Today was really fun, but also extremely nerve-racking. It was an even game and we managed to play our style of football again. We haven't done that for a long time. That's the most important thing to take from it," Kohfeldt said after the final whistle.
Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt beat RB Leipzig 3-1, Fortuna Düsseldorf took a 5-2 win away from home against Kaiserslautern while Schalke eliminated Hertha BSC after extra time, winning 3-2.
