Marseille coach André Villas-Boas confirms interest in BVB defender Leonardo Balerdi

Borussia Dortmund's Leonardo Balerdi has attracted interest from Olympique Marseille.
Olympique Marseille coach André Villas-Boas has confirmed reports that the French club are interested in Borussia Dortmund centre-back Leonardo Balerdi.

"We have given four names to [Olympique Marseille president] Jacques-Henri [Eyraud], and he is one of them. He has an interesting profile. We'll see what happens," Villas-Boas told L'Equipe.

Marseille were already linked with Balerdi a year and half ago, but the 21-year-old opted for a move to Dortmund, who paid €15.5 million to sign him from Boca Juniors back then.

Having played just eight games for the Bundesliga side since then, Balerdi could be on the move in the search for more first-team action.

According to reports, Marseille would like to sign the Argentine defender on a loan deal with an option to buy of around €12 million.
