Ante Rebic ready to hurt Bayern again after contract extension

Now, Rebic is ready to begin another season with 'Die Adler' – and that season starts with the Supercup against Bayern München tonight. The Croatian international scored two goals when Frankfurt defeated Bayern München 3-1 in the DFB-Pokal final back in May, and he is ready to cause havoc again tonight.
Since the 3-1 win, Niko Kovac has left the job as Frankfurt coach to take over at Bayern instead. Still, Rebic is confident that Frankfurt can hurt the Bavarians again.
"We've shown once before that we can beat Bayern. Even though our coach is now their coach, we'll perform well and see what happens next," Rebic told Sky Sport Germany.
The winger arrived at the club back in 2016 on a loan deal from the Serie A club Fiorentina and has since then had his stay in Germany extended by another season long loan. After a great 17/18 campaign, where he scored 9 and assisted 3 times, Frankfurt decided to purchase the player back in May for a low fee of €2 million.
That was prior to the World Cup finals in Russia, and Rebic has since then become a big name in the world of football. After being a key player for the Croatian side that went on to finishing second behind France, big clubs have come knocking, and questions of whether Frankfurt would be able to keep the player arose.
Following a summer of rumors regarding a potential move to a bigger club, the saga has finally come to a conclusion as Frankfurt on Friday announced that Ante Rebic has officially signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2022.
