Germany grabbed their first win of 2020 as they narrowly beat Ukraine 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday.
But even though Joachim Löw's side managed to take home all three points, Bastian Schweinsteiger wasn't impressed with what he saw.
Speaking to ARD after the game, the former FC Bayern star criticized Germany's recent performances.
"I would have liked to see one more player in midfield or up front. I would have played with four at the back instead of five. That would be good for the game," said Schweinsteiger and added:
"The results aren't as they should be, and the attractiveness is lacking a bit.
"You can no longer identify one hundred percent with the national team. That is a pity.
"I expect a reaction to get the fans in front of the TV again."
Germany will get the chance to show a reaction when they face Switzerland on Tuesday.
