German giants FC Bayern München have thus far offered no explanation for the absence of French defender Benjamin Pavard from the Thursday and Friday training sessions. Germany's SportBild cites insider information to confirm the 24-year-old has fluid in his knee-cap and thus stands no chance of being available for selection on Saturday.
In other Bayern news, no new word has emerged on whether defender Niklas Süle's recent corona-test was indeed a "false positive". The center-back remains in quarantine. In the meantime, third-string striker Joshua Zirkzee has tested positive for the virus and will definitely not be participating in the weekend encounter.
