VfB Stuttgart provided one of the best halves of the season in their 4-1 win in Leverkusen. Jamie Leweling played a starring role with a brace to secure their first success at the BayArena since 2018.

After the end of the game, the 24-year-old answered questions about his future. “The classic answer would be to say that 'I don't want to go, I want to stay here,'” said the winger regarding rumors linking him with the Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

“And, that's the truth. We have set something to do here as a team. That includes me. It's nice to get offers, but I feel very comfortable here." added the Nürnberg native. Including scoring the only goal of the game against the Netherlands on his debut, Leweling played four times for the Germany national team.

"Of course, I wish to be included in the World Cup squad,” he said when the question centered around international football. Stuttgart’s sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth also showed his support for the club's emerging star. "When you talk about the World Cup, I think some of our players have made the right steps today."
