Schalke 04 have started drawing up a list of names to replace Jochen Schneider, who was recently dismissed as head of sport.

According to Sport Bild, Horst Heldt (FC Köln), Jörg Schmadtke (Wolfsburg), Rouven Schröder (most recently Mainz) and Erik Stoffelshaus (most recently Lokomotiv Moscow) are being considered for the job.

Per the report, Schröder and Heldt have emerged as early favorites to take over the job, but the board is yet to identify a preferred candidate.

Meanwhile, new details have emerged about the contract of Dimitrios Grammozis, who was appointed new Schalke coach on a deal until 2022 yesterday.

According to Bild, the 42-year-old contract will be automatically extended by another season if he manages to win promotion from the 2. Bundesliga next season.

Schalke sit rock bottom of the Bundesliga with nine points after 23 games.
