Borussia Dortmund close to extending with duo

Borussia Dortmund are in advanced talks to extend the contracts of Julian Brandt and club captain Emre Can, according to Sport Bild.

The report suggests that negotiations to extend the duo’s contracts, both set to expire next summer, are expected to be finalised in either January or February next year.

Their current salaries – roughly €8 million per year for Brandt and about €1 million more for Can – are not expected to change significantly.

Brandt, 29, has been at Dortmund since his €25 million move from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019.

Can, meanwhile, joined the Black and Yellows from Juventus for a similar fee in the summer of 2020 following an initial six-month loan spell.
