Fantasy Bundesliga: Matchday 33 Review

With the conclusion of Matchday 31, we will be taking a closer look at selected performances and trends in detail as well as what to look out for before the next matchday in this recap.
Differential picks score big
In the penultimate matchday of the season, most big name players did not really score big apart from the consistent Andre Silva, FOR (22M, 22) and Jadon Sancho, MID (22.1M, 18). Instead, there were some surprises in players, who got more than 10 points. Vincenzo Grifo, MID (15.1M, 21) had a big haul against Bayern due to his 2 assists and active participation in the game, and faces Frankfurt (A) next. Leroy Sane, MID (20.3M, 15) also scored relatively well with a goal and 6 points from his multiple goal attempts and could be a good pick if he starts the next game against Augsburg (H).

Same time kickoffs
In the final matchday of the season this week, all matches will be played at the same kickoff time which means that lineups will be available before the start of the match. Additionally, this would mean that managers should aim for the best first 11 with differentials in order to push for a good final result. Apart from the obvious team of Bayern to back, Koln will be looking for a must win game against Schalke in their bid to avoid relegation and could be worth backing. Ondrej Duda, MID (9.8M, 3) is among the players, who could be worth a punt.

Bayern and Leipzig with nothing to play for
Champions Bayern Munich put in an average performance to draw 2-2 against Freiburg, which saw the only players getting more than 10 points come from Lewandowski (11) and Sane (15). With Lewandowski meeting the 40 goal record last matchday, he would surely be out to try and beat that for the final game. There was a particularly disappointing performance from David Alaba, DEF (12.8M, 1) who was playing out of position.

Meanwhile for Leipzig, Dani Olmo, MID (19.4M, 0) was rested after playing the cup final against Dortmund and should be restored into the first team for the final game. Captain Marcel Sabitzer, MID (17M, 12) scored a goal in the draw against Wolfsburg and is also a good pick with many goal scoring chances.

Shocks of the matchday:
Rani Khedira, MID (4.2M, 15) scored the winning goal against a struggling Werder Bremen side. Bremen face Gladbach (H) in the final game of the season and could be facing the drop.
