Report: Real Madrid 'in pole position' to land Bundesliga marksman

According to reports, Real Madrid are the leading side in the race for Erling Haaland's signature.
The reports come from Spanish paper AS, who suggests that Los Blancos are in pole position to land the 20-year-old Norwegian superstar in the summer of 2022. Real's president Florentino Perez is said to have a good relationship with Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, which is what the paper suggests puts the Spanish giants in the lead for Haaland's services.

AS suggests that Haaland is the next option if PSG refuse to deal their superstar Kylian Mbappe to Los Blancos, but the paper also claims that signing both Mbappe and Haaland is not out of the question.

Watzke and other Dortmund officials have made it clear that Erling Haaland will not be sold in the upcoming summer window, but the forward has a €75m release clause that becomes active in summer 2022.

Thanks to recent agreements over the loan deals of Achraf Hakimi and Reinier Jesus, the relationship between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund is said to be a good one and should not be a stumbling block should a move for Haaland come into fruition.

These are just rumors, nothing has been confirmed yet, however the Haaland situation looks set to continue throughout the summer.
