Reus: 'We played more football after the red card'
Marco Reus says Borussia Dortmund upped their game after Abdou Diallo was sent off in today's match against Hoffenheim.
Borussia Dortmund weren't able to create many chances in today's game against Hoffenheim. But with six minutes left of ordinary time, Christian Pulisic sent the ball into the back of the net and earned his side a point after being set up by Marco Reus.
Before the equaliser, Dortmund were reduced to ten men as Abdou Diallo was sent off with 76 minutes on the clock, and according to Reus, the red card somehow made the BVB players wake up.
"We played more football after the red card, funnily enough. We waited for the opportunity, and Christian then scored the goal," Reus told reporters after the final whistle and added:
"Hoffenheim are an unpleasant opponent. They occupy the spaces very well and that makes it difficult for us to get into the right positions. At the end of the day, I think 1-1 is fine."
After today's draw, Borussia Dortmund still haven't lost a game this season. Reus and his teammates currently occupy the Bundesliga's third place with eight points after four matches.
