Schubert set for move to the Netherlands

Multiple reports claim Schalke's Markus Schubert will sign for Dutch side Vitesse.

    Schalke 04 goalkeeper Markus Schubert is set for a move abroad, according to Sky Germany, Sport1 and Kicker.

    Per the reports, the 23-year-old is poised to join Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse on a permanent deal.

    Bild recently reported that Schubert lost out to Ralf Fährmann in the battle to be Schalke's first-choice goalkeeper for the new season.

    Schubert, 23, spent last season on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt without making a single appearance.
