Player profile: Get to know Luis Díaz off the pitch

Here are a few nuggets of information regarding Bayern Munich's new signing which you may not have known.

Since becoming Bayern Munich's third-most expensive purchase of all time, Luis Díaz sat down with the club to answer some quickfire questions on his life off the pitch. 

What is your favourite movie? 

“I'll go with a [television] series that I liked a lot called ‘La Casa de Papel’ - it's incredible” (Otherwise known on Netflix as ‘Money Heist’ by Álex Pina).

What is your favourite food?

“My favourite food is coconut rice with fired patacones (fried plantain slices), a salad and a Coca-Cola to drink - that is perfect”. 

What's your favourite song?

“[Singing] ‘Mommy, turn on the radio, turn on the TV’ - that one, that one, it's called El Ritmo Qué Nos Une. I love it”. 

Do you have a nickname?

“Yes, they call me El Flaco (The Skinny One) or just Díaz”. 

What is your favourite place in Colombia?

“Where I come from and where I was born, which is La Guajira. But I also really like Barranquilla”.

What was your first football jersey? 

“Barranquilla FC”.

Who was your childhood idol?

“Ronaldinho”.

If you could switch lives with someone, who would it be?

“Switch lives? [laughs] Messi”.

Who is the biggest Bayern legend?

“Thomas Müller, he is a legend to me”. 

What was the most important moment in your career so far?

“There has been so many. But now, signing for Bayern is incredible so I will go with this moment”.
