DFL confirms two-match-suspension for Bochum's Tesche
The DFL confirmed on Monday that goal-line handball that saw Robert Tesche sent off early during Saturday's 0-1 defeat to VfL Wolfsburg will cost the veteran two matches.
Newly promoted VfL Bochum will have to do without an important part of their midfield leadership structure through the international break. Thirty-four-year-old Robert Tesche denied VfL Wolfsburg a clear goal in the 4th minute of Saturday's opener against Wolfsburg. In accordance with current league rules, he must sit out multiple matches on a ban.
On Monday The DFL sports-ruling committee announced that Tesche would be ineligible for his team's next two league fixtures based on "unsportsmanlike conduct". As many had anticipated, Tesche lined up as a linchpin sweeper in head-coach Thomas Reis' constellation.
In rebuilding his central midfield, Reis may turn to Hertha loanee Eduard Löwen.
