Confirmed: FC Bayern II prospect switches to English Championship
EFL Championship side Barnsley confirmed a late transfer Thursday in the form of a highly-touted Bayern Campus prospect who looks to be heading to the Isle for good.
One of FC Bayern II's prized signings from summer deadline day 2020 will play in the English second division this year. Twenty-year-old defender Remy Vita has been loaned out to Barnsley for the duration of the season. The EFL Championship side confirmed the existence of a purchase option; likely to be exercised unless the recently relegated Bayern reserves can achieve promotion back to the 3. Bundesliga.
The French fullback of Malagasay descent earned some attention in the German press last year. A demonstrated talent for offensive prowess early in his stint in Germany saw him score two goals in his first three starts last autumn. Production tapered off thereafter.
Vita joins former Austin head-coach and HSV professional Markus School in south Yorkshire.
