As announced this morning, Daisuke Yokota of Hannover 96 will officially continue his career at Glasgow Rangers.

The attacking midfielder is transferring to the traditional Scottish club who are competing in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers.

Yokota initially joined the German second division outfit on loan from KAA Gent in Belgium in the summer of 2025.

Last season, the Japanese player made 31 appearances for Hannover, scoring five goals and providing four assists.

In the summer, Hannover exercised their option to buy the 26-year-old attacking player permanently who is now heading for Glasgow.

“We exercised our option to buy Daisuke this summer because his quality is undeniable and we definitely wanted to secure his services permanently.

"However, we were also aware that he has a market and his own ambition to play for a Bundesliga club. We took this wish seriously.

"At the same time, it was clear that we wouldn't let Daisuke go at any price, but only under conditions that aligned with our expectations.

“We have now achieved that. We wish Daisuke all the best and much success in his future endeavors,” said H96 managing director Jonas Boldt.
