Hamburger SV announced that Giorgi Gocholeishvili has joined the club from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Although the 24-year-old is initially just on loan, HSV also has a purchase option for next summer, reportedly worth €4million.

Gocholeishvili spent last season on loan at FC Copenhagen, where he picked up valuable experience in the UEFA Conference League.

The Georgian right-back is the second new addition to the defense to join HSV in a short period of time.

The Hanseatic club had previously announced the loan transfer of Comoros center-back Warmed Omari from Stade Rennes.

He and Gocholeishvili will travel to Mallorca, where HSV will be based until Sunday for its second training camp of the preseason.
