Pavlovic remains absent as German national team returns to camp

FC Bayern midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic is the only German national team player not have reported back to Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann's DFB training camp at Herzogenaurach.

After Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann opted to give members of his Euro 2024 squad two days off following Friday's pre-tournament friendly win over Greece, twenty-five of the German Nationalmannschaft have reported back to base training camp at Herzogenaurach. Twenty-five-year-old FC Bayern München midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic remains absent. The official reason - as stated by the German FA - is that Pavlovic is battling an infection.

Pavlovic missed out on a chance to earn his first cap with the German national team in March when he had to depart camp with a case of tonsillitis. The Munich-native has been battling injury ahead of the coming Euros and is slated for tonsil surgery after the competition concludes. Pavlovic was able to earn his first cap in Monday's pre-tournament friendly against Ukraine, logging 19 minutes as a substitute.

He remained on the bench against Greece.
