Jamie Leweling’s proposed move to AS Roma appeared to be off after Sky Germany reported that the winger had rejected interest from the Italian giants.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma have since returned with an improved offer to the player, who is now reportedly open to the move.

The report adds that the two clubs are now working to reach an agreement, with Roma willing to offer €30 million plus a further €5 million in bonuses.

According to Di Marzio, Leweling trained as normal on Tuesday morning before being called into the club’s headquarters, with all parties now facing a race against time to get the deal over the line before the transfer deadline.

Sky previously reported that Everton offered as much as €43 million including bonuses on Monday night, but Leweling rejected the English club’s approach.
