According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Schalke and the 24-year-old have reached a full verbal agreement on a contract running until 2028, with an option to extend it by a further year. All personal terms are said to have been settled.
The only remaining step is Frankfurt's final approval. Plettenberg reports that negotiations between the two clubs are at a very advanced stage, with the deal expected to be completed soon.
Earlier on Tuesday, BILD reported that Schalke had submitted an offer worth a fixed €700,000, plus up to €600,000 in performance-related bonuses. The report added that the guaranteed fee is "well below the €1 million mark," making the move a potential bargain for the newly promoted side.
Ebimbe has reportedly been keen on a move to Gelsenkirchen throughout the summer, and Schalke now appear to be on the verge of securing the versatile winger's signature.
