Daniel Svensson, who picked up a ligament injury in Dortmund’s Champions League last-16 quarter-final with Lille, is on the mend.

Alongside teammate Felix Nmecha (knee), Svensson was seen in action at BVB’s Brackel training ground this afternoon.

It is expected that the 23-year-old will make a partial return to team training under Niko Kovac this week.

An appearance against Mainz this weekend isn’t entirely out of the question, but perhaps not worth the risk.

Nmecha is also expected to be spared with an eye towards the season run-in and Champions League quarter-final tie with Barcelona.
