Terzic and Tuchel mentioned as candidates for Roma job

Former Bundesliga coaches Edin Terzic and Thomas Tuchel are being touted as candidates to take over at AS Roma.

On Wednesday, AS Roma announced that Daniele De Rossi has been sacked as coach after a disappointing start to the season.

The Italian giants are now looking for his replacement, with former Bundesliga coaches Edin Terzic and Thomas Tuchel among the contenders, according to Sky Germany.

Terzic had two spells in charge of Borussia Dortmund and left the club after the 2023/24 season, in which he led the club to an underwhelming fifth-place finish in the Bundesliga and a Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

At Roma, Terzic would be able to reunite with Mats Hummels, but the centre-back is unlikely to welcome his former coach to Rome with open arms, as the two had a strained relationship at Dortmund.

Tuchel left as Bayern Munich coach after disappointingly finishing third in the Bundesliga in his first full season in charge.

Update (14:15 CET): Reports now suggest that Ivan Juric is set to take over as AS Roma coach.
