Having arrived from PSV Eindhoven for €35million, Bayer Leverkusen's new signing Malik Tillman spoke to the club's fans.

“I know who had the number 10 jersey before me. For me it's a massive honour," the USA international told the Leverkusen cameras.

"I know what the number 10 means in football and I will give my all to fill that role as best as I can at Leverkusen.

"But I'm also confident and sure that I can perform and show the people here what I can do. I'm very much looking forward to the new season,” he said.

Die Werkself's managing director of sport, Simon Rolfes, also has high hopes for the 23-year-old attacker.

“Malik will fit wonderfully into our team, with great quality and elements that will benefit us in midfield - dynamism, goal threat from distance, his heading ability," he added.
