VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth has confirmed that talks are underway with Deniz Undav and his agent about the striker’s future.

“We are always in discussions – with his agent, with him. So let’s see what happens in the coming weeks and months,” Wohlgemuth told Bild.

According to recent reports, negotiations over a new deal for Undav beyond 2027 are proving difficult, with Stuttgart keen on a two-year contract while the player is seeking a three-year extension.

Complicated negotiations or not, Stuttgart currently have no intention of selling the striker in the summer, one year before his current deal expires.

“Above all, we don’t want to let Deniz go. That’s why we aren’t looking to generate a transfer fee right now. We want to continue benefiting from his goals,” Wohlgemuth said.

This season, Undav has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 17 Bundesliga matches for Stuttgart.
