Sky Germany have confirmed that Tim Walter will extend his contract at Holstein Kiel, with an agreement reached.

Transfer journalist Florian Plettenberg adds that the official announcement regarding Walter's extension is planned soon.

Recently relegated VfL Wolfsburg tried to hijack the agreement between the 50-year-old and Kiel over the last 24 hours.

However, despite the Lower Saxony club's best attempts to lure him away, Walter has reportedly turned them down.

The Bruchsal native supposedly gave Kiel's director of sport, Olaf Rebbe, his commitment to the 2.Bundesliga from Schleswig-Holstein.

Since taking over at Kiel, Walter claimed five wins, a pair of draws and four defeats to guide the club to a 12th-place finish.
