"You never know what the future holds" – Honorat set for Gladbach exit?

The 29-year-old winger has suggested he would consider offers from other clubs - especially if they are competing in the Champions League or Europa League.

In a recent interview with Foot Mercato, Franck Honorat hinted that if an offer were to arrive, he could be set to depart Borussia Mönchengladbach next summer.

“To be honest, I'm doing well in Germany. But you never know what the future holds. I've spent my time here, I've seen pretty much everything,” the winger said.

"If I give my all for three months and a Champions League or Europa League club calls – why not? It would be a dream come true for me to play in European competition," he added.

As for Gladbach's ambitions for the remainder of the season, the goal is clear. Avoiding relegation for the Foals – who currently sit four points clear of the drop zone – is the focus.

"Our goal is simply to stay in the league. A lot has changed this year: a new coach, new players, young players. We want to secure our place in the league, then take a breather and see what happens next year.

“The first two years [I had at Gladbach] weren't really good, but they were okay. This year it will be close; I truly believe that the goal is simply to avoid relegation," Honorat explained.

However, it's clear Gladbach's current situation doesn't reflect Honorat's personal ambitions. Therefore it's not surprising that the French attacker could potentially imagine a transfer.
