With Jamal Musiala back in team training, Bayern Munich will soon have another attacking star in contention for playing time.

This could lead to reduced minutes for others such as 17-year-old Lennart Karl but club CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen isn't concerned about the youngster’s playing time.

“No one can simply ”claim" a spot at Bayern Munich. It’s the coach’s job to put together the best team, and I’m confident that Lennart will continue to get his minutes. Who knows maybe they (Karl and Musiala, editor's note) will even be on the pitch at the same time," Dreesen told t-online.

He went on to praise Karl for how he has established himself in the first team since the summer.

"I’ve been really happy with Lennart’s development. He truly was the surprise of the first half of the season. I still remember all the critical voices in the summer, lamenting our supposedly thin squad. But quality beats quantity. Lennart has shown just how beneficial a leaner squad can be, because it gives young players the chance to play and earn their minutes.

"Of course, players then have to justify that opportunity and Lennart has done so impressively, playing consistently in recent matches. I’m sure Vincent (Kompany, editor's note) still has big plans for him."
