In a new ZDF documentary, Joshua Kimmich takes a remarkable swipe at Bayern Munich, revealing that he felt a lack of support during the pandemic when it was revealed that he hadn't been vaccinated.
“I felt left alone for too long. I've been at the club for almost seven years now and there have not been many scandals surrounding me. That was the first downturn (the vaccination debate), that's when I noticed how the club reacted and I am accordingly disappointed and also hurt,” said Kimmich, among other things.
He has since explained that he made the statements some time ago, when the management looked different.
However, according to Bild, the Bayern hierarchy is far from impressed by his comments, not least because current club bosses Uli Hoeness, Herbert Hainer, Jan-Christian Dreesen and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge were all in leading positions at the time.
With one year left on his contract, Kimmich's future at Bayern has been questioned, and this case doesn't seem to improve his chances of staying.
Bayern are said to be willing to sell him, but the question is whether they'll receive an offer that suits all parties.
