After recently confirming new deals for Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala, it appears that Bayern Munich are closing in on another contract extension.

According to Sport Bild, Dayot Upamecano is "close" to extending his contract beyond 2026, with talks between the parties "well advanced".

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed to Sport Bild that both parties are keen to extend their cooperation.

“'Upa' knows that we definitely want to extend his contract. We have had very good discussions with him. We want to extend our contract with him soon,” Freund said.

“We are very, very happy with Upa's development. And he is also very happy with Bayern."

Upamecano joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021.
