Out of contract at the end of the season, Julian Brandt appears to have convinced Borussia Dortmund’s management that he deserves a new deal.

According to Sky Germany, Dortmund have decided they want to keep the 29-year-old attacking midfielder at the club beyond the season.

However, there is one important condition: Brandt must be willing to take a pay cut and agree to a more performance-based contract.

The German media outlet reports that Brandt currently earns between €7-8 million per year.

The midfielder has previously hinted at his desire to remain with the Bundesliga side.

Brandt joined Dortmund in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported fee of €25 million.
