Julian Brandt’s contract at Borussia Dortmund is not expected to be extended beyond the summer of 2026.

However, Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger is informed that the 28-year-old is already planning his next move in his career.

With Brandt one of several players criticised regularly in BVB’s underwhelming season, he and his agent are reportedly exploring the market.

Sky also note that the German midfielder wanted to leave the club after the 2023-24 campaign.

His relationship with ex-head coach Edin Terzic soured until the club convinced him to stay with the role of vice-captain behind Emre Can.

While Aston Villa were keen on Brandt last summer, his performances thus far have not attracted the interest of any major clubs.
