Sven Mislintat has been officially relieved of his duties as Borussia Dortmund's technical director.

The Black and Yellows confirmed the 52-year-old's departure on Thursday.

In a short statement, BVB said that Mislintat was informed of the decision by managing director for sport Lars Ricken today.

It was back in May that Dortmund decided to bring Mislintat, the club's former chief scout, back to the club and appoint him as technical director.

It didn't take long for things to go wrong internally, with reports claiming he was acting outside his area of responsibility.

Not only did he clash with his boss, Sebastian Kehl, but according to Sport Bild, he even tried to take over his job as sporting director.

The internal problems between Mislintat, Kehl and Ricken have now led to the former chief scout losing his job.
