Erik ten Hag ready to take Leverkusen position

As per reports from Sky Sports' Florian Plettenberg, Erik ten Hag is ready to take on the position as Bayer Leverkusen head coach.

With news swirling in the last 24 hours regarding Florian Wirtz's Liverpool on-the-cards move to Liverpool alongside the exits of both Jeremy Frimpong and Jonathan Tah, Leverkusen are keen to act swiftly when it comes to plotting their direction ahead of next term.

With Cesc Fabregas' links cooling, Dutchman Erik ten Hag is now in pole position to take charge of Die Werkself.

Yesterday's reports from Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggested that the ex-Manchester United head coach has agreed to take over on a two-year deal.

Today, Sky's Florian Plettenberg mentioned that the 55-year-old is ready to take over as talks between him and the club continue.

After a tumultuous period in north-west England, ten Hag is looking to revive his coaching career with a club set to have a considerably large piggy bank of money this summer after the departure of Wirtz in particular.
