Frimpong on facing Feyenoord: "We're not the favorites"
Bayer Leverkusen kick off their Champions League campaign on Thursday when they visit Feyenoord in Rotterdam.
Die Werkself are coming off a special season in which they won the German double and reached the Europa League final, and have won all their games this season apart from a 2-3 defeat to RB Leipzig.
Although Feyenoord have struggled domestically following the departure of coach Arne Slot to Liverpool, Jeremie Frimpong says Leverkusen won't be the favorites at De Kuip on Thursday.
"I already watched Feyenoord a lot in the Europa League last season because we could've come up against them at any point and we wanted to be ready," said the Leverkusen wing-back at Wednesday's pre-match press conference.
"I don't think we're the favorites. Feyenoord have been playing at a high level for years and are a big club here in the Netherlands. Some of my team-mates from the national team also play here. We have great respect for them. So, the game could go either way."
