Liverpool have approached RB Leipzig over the possibility of signing Yan Diomande this summer, according to The Athletic.

While French outlet Foot Mercato has previously claimed that the 19-year-old has agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, The Athletic reports that Liverpool are “in the strongest position” with the player when it comes to a potential deal.

RB Leipzig have made it clear they would like to keep Diomande beyond the summer after the 19-year-old enjoyed a breakout season in the Bundesliga. However, an offer in excess of €130 million could change their stance.

Diomande is under contract with Die Roten Bullen until 2030 and doesn't have a release clause.

He is set to represent Ivory Coast at the upcoming World Cup.
