Maximilian Beier has been heavily linked with a move away from Hoffenheim, with reports suggesting the young striker could be set for a summer transfer.
However, Hoffenheim coach Pellegrino Matarazzo has not given up hope that Beier will stay at the club.
"I think the chances [of Beier staying] are good. I know the kid, I know he feels very comfortable here. He's got a great connection with the team and the coaching staff, he's developed very well with us, so I can see another year here being good for him," Matarazzo told Kicker, adding:
“I know the business and the situation.”
Hoffenheim managing director for sport Alexander Rosen is aware that Hoffenheim could receive an offer for Beier that would be very hard to refuse.
"The moment could come when we look each other in the eye and say: There's no stopping this. A lot of people who have worked on this development here can be proud".
According to Kicker, the €30 million release clause in Beier's contract expired at the end of June, meaning Hoffenheim are free to negotiate a transfer fee.
Bayer Leverkusen, Chelsea, Liverpool and Aston Villa are said to be among the clubs monitoring Beier, who is under contract until 2027.
