After just three competitive games in charge, Erik ten Hag has lost his job as Bayer Leverkusen coach.
According to Fabrizio Romano and Sky Germany, Die Werkself have decided to relieve the Dutch manager of his duties.
After progressing from the first round of the DFB-Pokal with a 4-0 win over lower-league side Grossaspach, Leverkusen have made a disappointing start to the Bundesliga, picking up just one point from their first two matches.
An opening 1–2 defeat to Hoffenheim was followed by a 3–3 draw against Werder Bremen, a match in which Leverkusen squandered a two-goal lead despite playing with a man advantage for the final 30 minutes.
Ten Hag was brought in over the summer as a replacement for Xabi Alonso, signing a two-year contract.
Die Werkself will now once again be on the hunt for a new head coach.
