The 21-year-old star striker, who missed Dortmund's last three games with a muscle injury, took to Twitter to rule himself out of his country's upcoming games against Turkey and Montenegro.

"Hi folks. It sucks that I won't be ready for the international matches. I was looking forward to it. Anyway, good luck to Norway," Haaland stated.

Borussia Dortmund head of first team football Sebastian Kehl told Kicker on Sunday that he expects Haaland to come back into the squad for the game against Mainz on 16 October.
