Köln boss confirms other clubs are interested in Salih Özcan
Salih Özcan has been contacted by other clubs about a possible move away from FC Köln, according to the club's managing director for sport, Christian Keller.
FC Köln managing director for sport Christian Keller has confirmed that other clubs have contacted Salih Özcan about a possible summer transfer.
'The Billy Goats', however, are yet to receive any official approaches.
"We know that clubs have already contacted Salih, but not us yet. In that respect, it can happen very quickly. He has to ask himself what his next sporting steps should be. Whether he wants to stabilize at 'FC' at this high level, which he has achieved under Steffen Baumgart, or jump to the next level," Keller told Express.de.
"From a purely sporting point of view, I'd like to keep our top performers. Salih Özcan is one of them, of course. But the question is also what the top performer wants. Can he move into a new dimension, both financially and football wise? I talked to Salih about this. For him, it's primarily a sporting decision; it's not about the money."
The defensive midfielder has one year let on his contract with FC Köln. He made 34 appearances through the 2021/22 season with two goals and an assist to his name.
