Reports: Pavard unhappy with current role at Bayern

According to Sky Sport and Sport1 information, Benjamin Pavard is upset that Noussair Mazraoui started over him against Barcelona and now Mainz over the weekend.

Benjamin Pavard was the first Bayern player who left the dressing room after their win against Mainz on Matchday 12. He also looked frustrated in practice on Sunday and was the first player off the training ground.

Per Sky Sport and Sport1, the Frenchman is unhappy that Noussair Mazraoui has been given the starting nod at right-back for two straight games. Pavard also believed he was going to start at center-back more often this season, but is currently stuck behind Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano in the rotation.

Mazraoui reportedly started these last two matches due to recent training performances, as Julian Nagelsmann of course believes Pavard is a major part of the squad going forward.

However, the 26-year-old nearly left the club in the summer. Pavard and Bayern are unlikely to extend his contract that expires in 2024.
