Henrichs slams penalty decision after Leipzig's loss to Man City
RB Leipzig defender Benjamin Henrichs says Manchester City shouldn't have been awarded a penalty in last night's Champions League clash between the two sides.
Benjamin Henrichs has criticized the decision to award Manchester City a penalty in RB Leipzig's 7-0 Champions League round of 16 defeat last night.
Manchester City opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Henrichs was adjudged to have handled in the area. But it wasn't a penalty for him.
"I spoke to the referee again and he told me that he didn't see a handball, but that the VAR had alerted him, so he went and checked the replay and awarded the penalty. For me it wasn't a penalty, but when you lose 7-0 you don't have to talk about it too much," said Henrichs, who was naturally disappointed after the defeat.
"I have never lost 7-0 in my career. It's a brutal and bitter night for us. Haaland is physically very strong. He has a lot to offer, it is very difficult to defend against him," noted Henrichs.
