Reports: Jenz ruled out for Schalke's weekend fixture

FC Schalke 04 announced that talismanic central defender Moritz Jenz is nursing a muscular injury incurred in the most recent Bundesliga match against Augsburg.

According to Westphalia's Ruhrnachrichten and Germany's Kicker Magazine, the 23-year-old will be unavailable for the weekend encounter against Leverkusen.
Two reliable sources are currently reporting that one half of FC Schalke 04's rock solid central defensive duo will have to sit out the coming league fixture against Leverkusen. On Monday, the Ruhr club announced that Moritz Jenz suffered a muscular injury in his thigh against Augsburg last week. NRW's local Ruhrnachrichten and Germany's Kicker Magazine both report that die Königsblauen aren't prepared to try and rush Jenz back in time for the weekend.

Assuming these reports are correct, S04 trainer Thomas Reis has several options with regard to a new CB partner for Maya Yoshida. Current left-back Henning Matriciani - in very fine form at the moment - could move inside to pair with Yoshida whilst the returning Thomas Ouwejan takes over on the left. Leo Greiml - who paired with Yoshida in a test fixture against Venlo during the international break - could also retain his place alongside the Schalke skipper.
