SC Paderborn have completed the signing of former Germany international striker Max Kruse, who will join the 2. Bundesliga club for the upcoming season.

"The talks were very, very good from the beginning and convinced me. I don't want to talk too much because in the end it's my performance on the pitch that counts," Kruse is quoted as saying.

"There are only three things to say: I love soccer, I'm hungry for success and I want to go to the top with SC Paderborn 07!"

added Benjamin Weber, SC Paderborn's Managing Director of Sport:

"Max's footballing qualities and goal-scoring instincts are undisputed. His leadership skills and experience at national and international level will also help us a lot".

Kruse has been a free agent since his contract with VfL Wolfsburg was terminated in November.

The 35-year-old has made 307 appearances in the Bundesliga over the years, scoring 97 goals and providing 79 assists.
