After missing much of the 2022/23 campaign through injury, Patrik Schick is still a long way from returning to action.

Bayer Leverkusen confirmed today that the Czech striker is expected to be sidelined until early October.

Schick underwent successful groin surgery in June and has already started his rehabilitation. He last played for Leverkusen in March.

Die Werkself also provided injury updates on Robert Andrich, Odilon KOssounou, Piero Hincapie and Niklas Lomb.

Andrich is expected to return to full training during Leverkusen's camp in Austria from June 23 to July 28. Kossounou is also expected to return to full training soon.

Hincapie is scheduled to return in September, while Lomb will be out for four to six weeks.
