Bochum welcome back Schlotterbeck

VfL Bochum confirmed the re-acquisition of SC Freiburg defender Keven Schlotterbeck yesterday.
The new loan out of SC Freiburg's Keven Schlotterbeck to VfL Bochum was confirmed yesterday. The Revierklub confirmed a season-long loan-out for the 26-year-old. Neither Freiburg nor Bochum mentioned the possibility of a purchase option for the defender. Germany's main sporting tabloid claims that there is no such clause in the deal.

Schlotterbeck enjoyed success playing for Bochum on the Castroper Straße last spring, scoring two goals in 13 appearances for the 1848ers. In total, Nico Schlotterbeck's elder brother has made 83 Bundesliga appearances for Freiburg, Bochum, and 1. FC Union Berlin. The two goals scored for Bochum were his first two act Germany's top football level.

"I am very pleased that it has worked out and that I am now back in Bochum," the returnee noted in a club statement, "The time at VfL was very intense and gave me unforgettable moments. I scored my first two Bundesliga goals for VfL and celebrated staying in the league with the team and fans. I want to experience that again next May."

"'Schlotti' has proven himself to be a stabiliser, both on and off the pitch," VfL sporting director Marc Lettau added, "The objective for this season has not changed. We once again wish to be successful in the fight to stay in the league. With him, our chance to do so again increases."
