The German national team's disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign has resulted in a drop to twelfth place in the FIFA world rankings.

Their shock defeat to Paraguay on penalties in the Round of 32 undoubtedly did the DFB-elf no favours in seeing them drop two places.

Mexico – who were eliminated in the last-eight by England – and Colombia have leapfrogged them into 10th- and 11th-place respectively.

Elsewhere inside the top 10 – Spain have climbed to the summit after lifting their second World Cup title yesterday in New York.

Argentina slip to 2nd-place ahead of France and England, while Morocco and Brazil climb to 5th and 6th-place as Portugal drop two ranks.

European neighbours Belgium and the Netherlands have traded positions, sitting eighth and ninth overall respectively.
