Hoffenheim striker Ishak Belfodil has revealed he considered former Brazilian international Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima a role model while growing up.
When playing on the streets of Paris, Belfodil used to imitate the former Barcelona and Real Madrid star.
"He developed and influenced a playing style with speed and dribbling. I always imitated him as a street footballer in Paris. I wanted to be like Ronaldo," the striker told Kicker and admitted that he has developed a lot during his career:
"I've learned a lot of tactics, pressing, to make the right runs and so on. You can see on the pitch that I've developed as a player."
Belfodil, 27, joined Hoffenheim from Standard Liege last summer.
