Gladbach officially unveil Sander

Borussia Mönchengladbach officially rolled out Holstein Kiel captain Philipp Sander as a new signing Monday afternoon. 

Having confirmed the transfer himself shortly after his side's promotion to the German top flight, Holstein Kiel midfielder Philipp Sander was officially unveiled as a Borussia Mönchengladbach signing on Monday afternoon. The 26-year-old Rostock-native inked a new deal with the foals good through 2028. The amount Gladbach payed for Sander is not immediately clear. 

Sander netted three goals and pocketed six assists in 25 league appearances during Kiel's promotion season. Kiel sporting director Carsten Wehlmann issued a statement congratulating the Kiel academy man on his step up. The player himself thanked his the only club he has ever represented professionally for their belief and support.

"I've not only matured here as a player, but also as a personality off the pitch," Sander noted in a released statement, "It makes me extremely happy and proud that I can say goodbye to Kiel as captain with such a successful and historic ending as promotion. Borussia is a special club and when I heard about Gladbach's interest in me I was immediately hooked.
