Germany coach Joachim Löw was in the stands to take a look at Hertha BSC's Niklas Stark in the 1-2 defeat to Freiburg on Saturday.

And Hertha coach Pal Dardai feels that the centre-back, who played for Germany at youth level, is ready to be called up for the senior team.

"That would be the next step in his development. He has grown into one of the absolute leaders here. He has got everything a national team player needs," Dardai told Bild and went on:

"The German Football Association know him very well. The decision is up to Joachim Löw. I can and will not talk him into it."

Stark, 23, joined Hertha from FC Nürnberg in 2015.
